Smartphone Videos and Social Media: A Hands-On Crash Course

In this two-part class, you'll learn how to use your smartphone to make engaging videos for social media—no matter the app.

In session one, you’ll get a crash course on the different social video platforms and how they operate. We’ll talk about the style of videos you’ll likely find on each--and help you to identify where your potential audience is most likely spending their time. Then, you’ll get to practice producing your own video, shooting and editing using a phone and a few lightweight accessories that’ll level up your lighting, framing and sound quality so you look like a pro.

Between the two classes, you’ll receive prompts to help you create content on your own and develop your video style. We’ll return in week two to workshop these videos, figuring out what worked about different approaches. We’ll cover how to grab your audience’s attention on a crowded platform--and how to interact and connect with people once you’ve gotten it to keep growing your following.

Class meets Wed. May 25th & Wed. June 1st, from 7-9pm.

Cost: $80
