Community Partners

Arlington Independent Media partners with many local organizations to produce community video programming, facilitate special events and provide educational opportunites in media production and media literacy.  We're proud to currently partner with the following organizations:

AHC - AIM provided training to AHC staff and awarded scholarships to youth for our Video Production Camp.

Arlington Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless - In addition to providing staff and volunteers with training, AIM is currently partnering with the AACH on a media project to create a broad-based consensus about homelessness in Arlington.

Arlington Career Center - In addition to providing internship opportunites, AIM participates in the Career Center's Career Day and Skills USA competition.

Arlington Committee of 100 - For over 20 years AIM has created video programming covering this community forum's public meeting.

Arlington Community Foundation - AIM provided coverage of ACF’s 2013 Spirit of Community Awards program.

Arlington County Civic Federation - AIM provide regular programming coverage of ACCF Candidate Forums. 

Arlington County Fair - As a media sponsor of this annual event, AIM provides coverage of fair events and produces promotional videos in exchange for a booth at the fair.

Arlington Free Clinic - AIM is partnering with AFC to produce an infomercial for its 20th anniversary gala.

Arlington Partnership for Children, Youth and Families - AIM provides training and consultation to APCYF staff.  We recently partnered to produce the Arlington Youth Film Festival and a 12-part video series about teens.

Artisphere - In addition to producing an independent film screening series, AIM has provided video coverage of events.  The Rosebud Film and Video Festival Nominee Showcase is held in Artisphere's Dome Theater.

Artomatic - AIM provides film and video content for this annual arts festival.

Clarendon Alliance - As a media sponsor, AIM provides coverage of Clarendon Day, the Mardi Gras Parade and other events in addition to producing public service annoucements.  

DC Shorts - AIM staff serve on this short film festival's programming committee, teach workshops and moderate filmmaker panels.  Festival director Jon Gann teaches a master class at AIM in Marketing for Media Projects.

George Mason University - AIM airs 15 hours of GMU telecourses weekly on our cable channels and GMU students regularly intern with us.  AIM Executive Director Paul LeValley teaches part time in the GMU Communications Department.

Hope Operas - AIM's Document Arlington Project has twice been chosen as a beneficiary of this innovative fundraising/performance initiative.

Northern Virginia Community College - AIM provides workshops to NVCC media students.

Offender Aid and Restoration - OAR produced a series about their programs and services, and AIM has provided training to OAR staff and volunteers

Our Task - AIM has provided training and production services to staff and volunteers.  As a media sponsor of OT's Earth 2100 Conference, AIM produced promotional videos and complete coverage of the conference.

Rosslyn Bid - AIM provide's video coverage of the annual Rosslyn Jazz Festival

Senior Services of Alexandria - SSA produces a bi-weekly program about their services, called "Senior Living."

TIVA and WIFV - The DC chapters use AIM studio and equipment for special events and share independent filmmaking resources.

Tell Arlington's Story -  AIM trained volunteers, produced a public service announcement and produced dozens of video segments for this initiative that preserves Arlington's history.
