Location Lighting (15-A)

This hands-on master class is a practical workshop that teaches students professional-level location lighting skills. Through demonstrations, lecture, exercises, and in-class activities, students master the art and science of light, shadow, contrast, diffusion, and color. Instructor Nate Clapp, of Nomad Productions, will guide students to a new level of competence in creative location lighting under a variety of real world circumstances.

Nate Clapp holds an MA in film and video from American University and has worked professionally in the DC area's film and video industry for over 20 years. Nate is a member of The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, has worked in the camera department on many large features such as Runaway Bride, The Recruit and Liberty Heights, and has also worked on a wide variety of documentaries, commercials and television series including Homicide, Life on the Street, K Street, The Wire, and West Wing.
