Documentary Production (19-A)
In this six-week workshop, students gain an in-depth understanding of the documentary production process by developing an original idea into a short work to be screened at the end of the course. The coursework combines theory, history, and practice. Hands-on production technique, screenings, readings, lectures, and discussions prepare students to develop and produce quality documentary work. The course includes an emphasis on research, pre-production planning, and writing as integral components of documentary production.
** This class meets 6 times over 9 weeks to allow time for production - May 14, 21, June 4, 18, 25 & July 9.
