We want to change the way youth relate to media. We teach skills that transform youth from passive consumers of media to active creators of media. AIM Video Production Camp not only gives kids the technical and creative skills needed to produce video, but also shows them how to look at media differently.

Do you want your kids to take a break from watching TV and playing video games this summer? Would they like to make a movie instead? In just two weeks they will learn to:

  • Tell a story
  • Collaborate with others
  • Learn the basics of video production
  • Produce a movie that will air on cable television
  • Become well-informed media consumers

AIM’s Video Production Camp is for youth ages 9-13. Working together with the guidance of specialized instructors and media professionals, participants will develop a story idea, write a script, shoot footage, and edit their own short production. In the process, they will be introduced to the basic concepts of media literacy and critical thinking.

We offer two sessions during the summer, each one is limited to nine participants. Each camp session lasts for 10 days, and runs Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm.

It takes place at AIM's facility, located at 2701-C Wilson Boulevard in Arlington, VA.
