Holiday Party

All members and their families are invited to the 2009 annual holiday potluck at Arlington Independent Media. Refer to your Evite invitation for what you might want to bring to the potluck.

Each holiday season AIM parnters with a local charity to make the holidays more enjoyable for needy Arlingtonians. This year AIM is holding a donation drive for the Arlington Street People's Assistance Network (A-SPAN). This is a community-based, local nonprofit dedicated to ending and preventing homelessness in Arlington County, Virginia. A-SPAN is proud to be operating the Arlington County Emergency Winter Shelter this year, where clients receive a hot meal, showers, laundry services, a warm bed and access to case management and counseling services every night through March 2010. The majority of donations received at AIM will go to the Emergency Winter Shelter.

There will be a wish list and box for donationsby the front door of the building from now through the party on the 13th. The most needed items on the wish list are: warm socks, men's and women's undergarments, men's and women's sneakers and winter boots, men's and women's jeans/slacks, towels, blankets (no sheets) and toiletries.
