Club CinemAddicts
Thursday, May 20th we will re-ignite our cinema discussion nights at Arlington Independent Media. CinemAddicts is for those who are not only interested in watching films, but also in breaking them down and analyzing the content, techniques used, as well as any social and historical impact.
On May 20, 2010 at 7:30PM we will show Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb by Stanley Kubrick. In this classic 1964 satire, Brigadier General Jack Ripper launches an air strike against the Soviets who respond by threatening to release a "doomsday device," setting the stage for Armageddon.
This event is open to AIM members and free of charge. Our own Brian Long completed his master's thesis on this film and will be present to discuss it.
To RSVP, please email Andrea Ellis at andrea@arlingtonmedia.org.
